WTSA State Conference Registration deadline

For students who met the December competition registration deadline, and the January 20th mandatory event deadline, registration will be open from February 7-11 to register for competition at the WTSA 2022 State Conference in Seattle, which will be March 16-19.

LeaderCon LIVE

Join TSA and FBLA for our first joint event in-person, at the Yakima Convention Center, on Nov. 30.

Registration is $20 per person, and includes lunch. Register now!

Check-in will open at 10:00 am, and the event will run from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The day will start with an active VIBE session, with a variety of fun, energetic leadership development activities.

TSA will run modified competitions in Catapult, Robotics Challenge, On Demand Video and Career Prep for both middle and high school.

We will also run short workshops in MS JSS, MS Flight, HS Geospatial, Forensics, System Control, and all of our state-only events.

Video (MS/HS) Advisor Training - hands-on, virtual, advisor training series

These workshops are part of our hands-on virtual Advisor Competitive Event training series, hosted by veteran advisors and TSA students who have won state and/or nationals in the event.

This training will be conducted by Tim Kennedy, Cedarcrest High School.

TSA high school events include Digital Video and On Demand Video, plus the new Washington-only Silent Film event. Middle school events include Community Service Video, plus Washington-only Silent Film and On Demand Video.

This session will cover scripts, shot logs and planning, as well as shooting and editing.

MS JSS Advisor Training - hands-on, virtual, advisor training series - RESCHEDULED

These workshops are part of our hands-on virtual Advisor Competitive Event training series, hosted by veteran advisors and TSA students who have won state and/or nationals in the event.

In this case, this training will be conducted by Kristen Schlegel, Whatcom Middle School, and former JSS students.

Materials will be sent to each advisor to have on hand for the workshop.

The instructor will discuss details of the event, including demonstrations, and then advisors will build their own car, while able to ask questions of the instructor. Advisors can continue to build during the week on their own time, and then the second training will cover questions, issues, testing, feedback, and next steps.

TSA Advisor Learning Series - GCU

Welcome to the first WTSA Advisor Learning Series, with Kacey Carvajal of Grand Canyon University. Most of you will remember Kacey from the workshop series we held during the March 2021 WTSA State Conference - including Cybersecurity, Meme Creator, etc.

GCU is pleased to partner with Washington TSA to offer opportunities to TSA advisors and students, including GCU Live Lessons, and Cyber Saturdays.

Kacey will cover details of the programs, and answer questions.

Joint State Officer Training

TSA State Officers will join state officer teams from DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, HOSA, SkillsUSA and WCTSMA for a 2-day training event in Tukwila, WA. This training will prepare them to lead WTSA events throughout the year, and provide chapter officer training, chapter visits and CTSO advocacy throughout the state.

WTSA State Conference 2021

Washington TSA State Conference details have yet to be determined, based on COVID.

There will definitely be a virtual state conference, and we will run all competitive events (with possibly the exception of VEX).

The WTSA Board will decide in January if there will also be an in-person option, and what that will look like.
